Based on Farley Mowat's book, LOST IN THE BARRENS. Set in the 1930's, it is the story of teenage boys, a Cree Indian and a white orphan who are thrown together by accident. Stranded on the barren Canadian tundry in frigid winter weather with little clothing and no food or hunting weapons, the boys share a struggle to survive in extremely adverse conditions. Their struggle challenges their prejudices and brings each to a better understanding of himself, the other, and to the ways of a different culture.
